So Miss Janet Has Been Busy Recently. First, As Many Of You Know Yesterday Was the Release Of Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too” In Which Janet Has A Starring Role In. It’s Only Natural That Janet Do The Usual Rounds Of Interviews And Appearances In Order To Promote The Film. I Do Find It Interesting Though That She Would Choose Now, While In The Middle Of A Huge Promotional Tour, To Make An Appearance On Oprah. Now Don’t Get Me Wrong, I Actually Like Janet, Alot. As One Of The Only Members Of The Jackson Family That Has Never Made An Attempt To Profit Off Of Her Brother (In Life Or In Death) She Has Always Seemed Generally Distraught By Her Brothers Passing, And Still Does. But…. OPRAH??
Every One Knows That A Conversation Between Oprah And Any Member Of The Jackson Family Is Gonna Mainly Be About Michael. Sooo Knowing That, Why Would She Not Have Chosen A Better Or More Appropriate Time To Sit Down With The Big O? If Doing Oprah Was A Must Do In Order To Promote The Film As Aggressively As Possible Then Why Not Do Oprah Back In The End Of 09 When She Did The Interview With Robin Roberts, Then Hit Up Oprah For A Second Time During The Promotion Tour?
That Would Have Allowed Her To, For Lack Of A Better Term, “Get It Out The Way”. Or Is The Draw That The Conversation About Micheal And His Death Has On An Audience The Point? So Then The Question Is, Is Tyler Perry And His People Using Janet And Her Unfortunate Situation In Order To Help Drive The Success Of The Film. Admit It More People Probably Turned In To Hear About Michael, Then To Hear About The Movie, But After An Intense Interview With Janet And Tyler, Plus A Co-Sign From Oprah There Were Most Likely At Least A Few Viewers Swayed Into Going And Visiting The Theater Sometime Over This Holiday Weekend. Also Call It A Coincidence Or Great Marketing But Just Last Week Janet’s New Single Hit The Billboard Charts At #76, And Thursday Was The Premier Of Her Video.
So…. Does The Fact That Janet Spent More then Half Of Her Time On Oprah (One Of The Biggest Marketing Tools In The Industry Right Now) Talking About Her Late Brother, Cast A Shadow On Her As Just Another Jackson Using Her Brothers Death As A Ploy To Get People To Pay Attention To Her Many Profitable Ventures? Or, Is She Just As I Said Earlier “Making The Rounds” And The Subject Had To Come Up Some Time? IDK But It Is A Question That Come’s To Mind.
