Mixtape Title: There Is No Competition 2:The Funeral Service
Artist: Fabolous
DJ: DJ Drama
Release Date: 03/05/10
Finally…. If You’ve Been One Of The Many That Have Been On The Lookout For This Since Christmas Of 2009 Then You’ll Be Relieved To Know IT’S HERE.
So Whats The Verdict? It’s No Disappointment. We Are Brought Deep Into Fab’s World,Where He Obviously Sees The Current Artist On The Scene As “NO COMPETITION”. He Puts The Right Amount Of Spin On Each Of The Tracks That We’re Able To Recognize The Original Artist Work And Still Appreciate The Fact That He’s Willing To Go The Extra Mile To Show That Maybe It Wouldn’t Have Been A Bad Idea To Give Him A Call Before They Dropped The Original. In The Spirit Of The Mixtape, Fab Has Fun With His Interpretation Of The Beat And Has No Problem Blending His NY Style With The Track, Regardless Of The Beats Origin.
2010 Has Been Off To A Slow Start With All The Delays, And Projects That Are Focused On A Second Quarter Release. If Fab Accomplished Anything With This Sequel To Last Years “NO COMPETITION” It Was That He Placed A Line In The Sand For The Year And We’ll See Who The First One To Cross It Will Be….

Mixtape Title: Apply Pressure 2
Artist: Cassidy
DJ: Hosted By Big Mike And DJ Thoro
Allow Me To Begin This Review Of CASSIDY’s “APPLY PRESSURE 2″ Mixtape, The Follow Up To The 2009 APPLY PRESSURE That Blessed Us All With Cassidy’s Incredible Lyrical Capability And Immeasurable Arrogance, With The Obvious. The Irony Of The Fact That During This Look Back At The Mixtape Releases Of The First Quarter Of 2010 Did Not Elude Us, That Purely By Coincidence The First Two Reviews Just Happen To Be Two Past Rivals. So With That Said We’re Gonna Jump Right In Here.
This Is The Type Of Tape That I Look For When I Want To Hear Someone Spit, The Confidence That Cassidy Exudes Is Infectious And His Skill Level Is Beyond A Majority Of Mc’s. Although His Rhyme Scheme Is Simple And It’s Easy For Him To Convey His Point, His Punchlines Can Be Complicated Enough That Their Meaning Can Elude Even The Attentive Listener. Each Track Is As Brutal As The Last And His Flow Is Relentless.
In All Though, I Feel That The Project Was A Bit Lackluster And Was Missing A Few Key Ingredients. While I Enjoyed The Project I Don’t See It Being As Memorable As “Apply Pressure” Was. Let’s Hope The Next Thing To Come From Cass Has A Little More For The Ride.

Mixtape Title: Freelapse
Artist: Freeway
DJ: N/A
Being This Is The First Official 2NEW4U.COM Mixtape Review We’ve Decides To Cover The FEW Mixtapes That Have Been Released During The Last Two Months That The Site Has Been On Hiatis In Order To Make Some Much Needed Changes.
The First Mixtape We Will Look At Is FREEWAYS “FREELAPSE”. This Was A Very Creative Concept That Was Execucted With Percise Accuricy. As FREEWAY Himself Acnolaged, An Underaking Of This Magnatude Is Somewhat Of A Risky Move. Since 1999 The Work Of Eminem Has Been Considered By Many To Be Effortlessly Perfect. Few Have Attempted To To Walk In His Shoes And Mutch Of His Work Has Been Left Untouched (Besides Maybe Lil Wayne’s “Renegade”)
Freeway Killed It Though. Rather Then Attempting To “Remake” The MC’s Classic Track’s He Instead Made The Conscience Decision To Make FREEWAY Song’s Over Eminem Beats, And By Maintaining His Normal Level Of Intensity He Was Able To Infuse The Fun Of An Eminem Song With The Grit Of A Freeway Banger. Instead Of Altering His Content To Match That Of The Tracks Predessesor He Just Infuesed His Own Flavor And Rhyme Scheme To Bring The Beat Where He Had Intended, Down The Freeway.
As A Precursor To The “Stimulus Package” I Feel That Freeway Was Successful In Raising The Awareness That He Is No Joke And Has Never Wanted To Be Viewed As “One Of Those Guys That We’re On The Roc”. Well Free, You Did It And We Will Stay On The Look Out. Make Sure If Didn’t Already, That You Go Out And Get That “Stimulus Package”.
